Kitchen Manager

The position of Kitchen Manager will be open for the 2024-2025 school year.  This is a ½ time position for 4 hours/day for 148 days.  This position has a 4 day a week schedule.
The position of Kitchen Manager will be open for the 2024-2025 school year.  This is a ½ time position for 4 hours/day for 148 days.  This position has a 4 day a week schedule.
Position Summary:  The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the overall management of the kitchen including all aspects of food preparation and serving, supervising kitchen staff and student helpers.  It is the responsible of the Kitchen Manager to keep current on any training necessary.
Typical Responsibilities: 
1.      Oversees the timely preparation and serving of food.  This might include some carry-out.
2.     Supervises and directs the work of kitchen personnel and student helpers.
3.     Maintains all kitchen financial records, including deposits as necessary to the district, prepares daily and end of month reports and records.
4.     Maintains inventory of supplies, including ordering, receiving, storage and rotation of stock.
5.     Oversees the sanitation and cleaning of all kitchen facilities, equipment, and areas as necessary.
6.     In cooperation with the Director and other staff, will assist with the breakfast program.
7.     Observes all District and Charter School policies and procedures.
Position Requirements:
·       Minimum Education – High school graduate or equivalent
·       Minimum Experience – One to three years in a food service position.
·       ServeSafe certified or the ability to obtain certification.
·       Skill requirements:
o   Knowledge of commercial food preparation and equipment
o   Supervision of employees as necessary
o   Effective communication skills with staff and students
o   Basic math skills
This position could require frequent lifting of 5 to 20 pounds, constant standing, frequent bending, reaching, and walking, and occasional crawling, squatting and stooping. Paraprofessional

The position of half-time Paraprofessional will be open for the 2024-2025 school year.  This is a ½ time position for 4 hours/day for 148 days.  This position is for a 4 day a week schedule.
Position Summary:  The Paraprofessional is responsible for aiding teachers in working with students and leading special academic classes of physical education, music, library/keyboarding.  Other duties may be assigned as time allows during the work day.
Typical Responsibilities: 
1.     Provides instructional enrichment for physical education, music, library, and keyboarding classes.
2.     Collaborates with teachers to provide instructional enrichment assistance to individual students and large and small groups.
3.     Designs suitable materials for classroom use, bulletin boards and educational displays.
4.     Supervises students in various school settings and situations, including classrooms, lunchroom, playground, bus lines, field trips and other settings as necessary.
5.     Provides clerical support, including paper grading, student folders, typing and filing, office support activities, etc.
6.     Provides general assistance to students in instruction and non-instructional situations.
7.     May administer minor first aid in the absence of other personnel.
8.     Attend appropriate building training meetings, school functions and sessions.
9.     Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Position Requirements:
·       Minimum Education – High school graduate or equivalent
·       Ability to use proper English grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.
·       Communicate effectively in written and oral form using positive interpersonal skills.
·       Ability to manage multiple priorities.
·       Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team setting.
·       Ability to promote and follow PVCS policies and procedures.
·       Ability to assist in supporting classroom management and reinforcement systems.
·       Ability to use effective interventions for at risk learners.
·       Have operating knowledge of basic office equipment, copy machine, printer, chrome books, iPads, etc.
·       This position could require constant standing, frequent bending, reaching, and walking, and occasional crawling, squatting and stooping.
