The position of Kitchen Manager will be open for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. This is a ½ time position for 4 hours/day and 4 days/week a for total of 148 days. This position has a 4 day a week schedule.
Position Summary: The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the overall management of the kitchen including all aspects of food preparation and serving, supervising kitchen staff and student helpers. It is the responsible of the Kitchen Manager to keep current on any training necessary.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Oversees the timely preparation and serving of food. This might include some carry-out.
- Supervises and directs the work of kitchen personnel and student helpers.
- Maintains all kitchen financial records, including deposits as necessary to the district, prepares daily and end of month reports and records.
- Maintains inventory of supplies, including ordering, receiving, storage and rotation of stock.
- Oversees the sanitation and cleaning of all kitchen facilities, equipment, and areas as necessary.
- In cooperation with the Director and other staff, will assist with the breakfast program as much as possible.
- Observes all District and Charter School policies and procedures.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum Education – High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum Experience – One to three years in a food service position.
- ServeSafe certified or the ability to obtain certification.
- Skill requirements:
- Knowledge of commercial food preparation and equipment
- Supervision of employees and student helpers as necessary
- Effective communication skills with staff and students
- Basic math skills
This position could require frequent lifting of 5 to 20 pounds, constant standing, frequent bending, reaching, and walking, and occasional crawling, squatting and stooping.
